This is not a story of exceptional courage or extreme hardship. It is more an account of unusual and unexpected situations that the average grandmother would not expect to experience.
I could be anyone's grandma. From my voluntary position on the local senior citizens committee to my wee modest council flat, I project the existence of a normal and predictable life. Of that it is true. Now.
My book, while it may not be too spectacular, relates to a period of my life where normal and predictable things didn't happen to me. I seemed to attract problems with some of the most unforgiving people. Every time I extricated myself from one bad situation I only succeeded in entering another.
It was both a wonderful, yet frightening era for me and I hope that just a few folk enjoy my tale as it happened. Time moderates certain memories but others have not lost their intensity to this day.
I have tried to remain objective and fair regarding the personal excerpts about people in my book. Without doubt, I'm sure the people concerned will see it all a different way. I can only write it as I remember and perceive it.
